Karamuule Tu Govindah Prabhaate Karadarshanam ||
कराग्रे वसते लक्ष्मिः करमध्ये सरस्वति ।
करमूले तु गोविन्दः प्रभाते करदर्शनम् ॥
MEANING
This verse means that the goddess of wealth resides in the front part of our palms. In the center part of palms, resides the goddess of knowledge whereas in the base our hands dwell the God Govinda. Because of this, I see my palms every morning.
In this verse, we pray for Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth, Sarasvati (the goddess of knowledge), and the prime god who is protecting and nurturing the world. Saying this verse daily serves us with wealth, prosperity, knowledge, and God’s graciousness.
Another reason to see our palms is that our eyes are sleepy after we wake up from sleep. So, focusing on far things can harm our eyes and eyesight. But, seeing our palms after waking up makes our sight strong and clear. This does not give any bad effect on our sight.
